'69 850 Spider 40DCOE Throttle Linkage

This is it. The linkage started life as a humble X1/9 door lock rod. You know, the little rod that connects the door lock pin to the latch. After some creative bending and twisting I managed to get it just right. It only took about 30 minutes of carefully thought out bends and turns to get it to fit as if Carlo Abarth himself designed it. It's held in place with cotter pins, just like the original throttle linkage.

This gives a good shot of both the linkage and the slanted air horns. Also, be sure to check out the modified radiator.

This doesn't really show the thorttle linkage well, but it does show the choke cable. Funny thing, the housing is usually stationary while the cable moves the lever. In this case, the housing is attached to the chocke lever, while the calbe is fixed. Relative motion. The housing moves, not the cable. Same result.

Here's a clear close-up of the linkage. If you look closely you can see the cotter pins.

Another good close-up.
